What are the benefits of dog daycare?

There are many! Dogs are social animals and benefit from interaction with other dogs. At daycare they will learn to socialize with other dogs, get exercise and have fun. It will ease your mind knowing your dog is entertained in a safe place instead of being bored, frustrated or destructive at home while you are busy working.

What are your hours?

We are open 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, some Holidays and weekends depending on the needs of our clients. Drop off hours are from 7:00 to 9:00 am. Pickup is between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm or other times by special notice to staff.

How can I enroll my dog?

Contact us and we will send you an application form and dog personality profile or use the links below. Fill them out and email or fax them to us. We will contact you in two business days to schedule a time for a temperament evaluation. Cost for a temperament evaluation is $20. In the mean time, we ask that your dog is current on vaccinations (Rabies, DHPP and Bordatella); you will need to furnish proof of this during the evaluation.

Why do you require a temperament evaluation?

For the safety of everyone, it is vital that your dog interact positively with other dogs and people. Dogs that are anxious, nervous or frightened would not enjoy themselves; we want dogs to have fun here!

Do you have an outdoor potty area?

Yes, we have a securely fenced in area where the dogs can play (weather permitting) or go potty. All messes are cleaned up immediately.

Do you have separate areas for different sized dogs?

Yes, we can separate our dogs into various groupings as needed.

Do you have a time out area?

Yes, at times some dogs need to be separated from others if the play becomes too rambunctious. We can separate dogs if necessary for a little down time.

What happens if my dog needs veterinary attention?

We are 3 blocks from an animal hospital if emergency care is needed, or we can contact your own vet if needed.

What is a typical day at Good Karma Dog Center like?

7:00 – 8:00 am :

Arrivals are checked in, their belongings are put into their lockers and they wait in a quiet room for play to begin.

8:00 – 11:00 am :

Morning activities follow where there is lots of play, ball fetching, chasing games and wrestling. All dogs are taught good manners as part of the activities.

11:00 am – 1:30 pm :

Nap time, the lights are dimmed and soft music played to encourage natural rest and relaxation. This is the time that any special needs are attended to such as training, walks, treadmills, bathing etc.

1:30 – 4:30 pm :

Exercise – a less fast paced version of the morning activities with more one-on-one attention and TLC.

4:30 – 6:00 pm :

It is dinner time for those sleeping over, or time for any other special needs our guests require. We try to get each of the dogs to unwind a little before his or her person arrives to take him or her home.
